Demands of the strength and life of the key parts of the diesel engine are more and more high. The temperature field and stress field analysis for diesel piston are conducted by the finite element analysis method, and the thermal load and the stress distribution of the piston are thoroughly mastered. In this paper, analysis of the temperature field and stress field of the diesel piston are carried out based on the finite element model (FEM).Firstly, this paper develops a 3D FEM for the diesel piston; then introduces the boundary conditions as well. In the temperature field, the finite element analysis and calculation results show that the maximum temperature of the diesel engine piston is 295 ?, which locates in top of the piston, and the lowest temperature is 91.5 ?, which locates in the piston skirt. In addition, the temperature in top of the piston is obviously higher than that in the skirt. The results showed that the simulation results can reasonably reflect the stable operating state of the piston of diesel engine. The results show that the finite element model is reliable and the analysis results are reliable.Based on the temperature field of the piston, the transient thermal stress field is simulated, and the mechanical stress of the model is obtained by the mechanical load. The stress calculation of the steam pressure, the deformation of the deformation and the stress amplitude are calculated. The analysis shows that the thermal stress of the local thermal stress is bigger, the mechanical stress is the largest and the source of the coupling stress of the piston is different.The results also show that the transient dynamics may lead to a better understanding of the working cycle of the whole engine piston and its features, in addition, the analysis results of this paper also reflect that the truth is to take into account the analyzer's mind and take care the reliability of the service life of the theoretical basis for design of piston.
