Research On The Architectural Of Cai’s Ancestral Hall In Caizhai Village Dongyang

In the historical culture relics,there is no doubt that ancestral hall culture is of extreme historical value,which being an indispensable part of traditional village,however,has been gradually destroyed due to the excessive exploitation and unreasonable utilization in the development of modern cities.Therefore,the work to reinforce the protection and heritage of ancestral hall culture brooks no delay.Against this background,the thesis deeply analyzes the ancestral hall of Cai’s at Cai Zhai village in Dongyang basing on its historical culture、clan culture、the architectural composition and the art of decoration,expecting to find an appropriate way for the development of ancestral hall to adjust to the modern urbanization development under the traditional architectural culture inheritance system.The thesis starting from field investigation and villagers’ interviews,and combining with concerning information,through sorting the historical records about the site selection of Cai Zhai village、historical layout and contemporary layout,deeply analyze and discuss the humanity and geography background of it and the development of the Cai’s patriarchal clan.Moreover,through the deep investigation on the scene 、 the practice of measuring the plane layout and spatial structure of Cai’s ancestral hall、concluding the characteristic of detail decoration and combining it with theory,the thesis dissect the plane layout、vertical form、architectural elements、space composition 、 structure of the building 、 echnology and local material specifically and comprehensively.First and foremost,the thesis deeply analyzes the layout of the village under the effect of Cai Zhai village’s geography environment and patriarchal clan and concludes that Cai’s ancestral hall at Cai Zhai,which locates in the middle part of Zhejiang Province,is worth researching under the effect of traditional village protection.Next,by means of investigating and mapping on the scene,the thesis analyze the practice of construction and the art of decoration of ancestral hall.It comes to a conclusion that Cai’s ancestral hall has relative integrity of architectural culture and decoration constitution,however,when it is compared with some famous ancestral halls in other areas,Cai’s ancestral hall lackedsome precise construction experience and classification of it.Finally,the thesis calls on that the architectural and decoration cultures of the vernacular architectures like ancestral halls need protection and we should inherit the essence of vernacular architectures and the art of architecture decoration.Ancestral halls convey a lot of historical information,including: construction technology,decoration material,craft method,weather condition and so on,which is of great academic value to architecture subject in various regions.In any vernacular architecture,the architectural culture which was left is used for appreciation.The thesis not only analyzes the massive structure of Cai’s ancestral hall but also analyzes the art of its decoration from the perspective of aesthetics.These architectural cultures show that the beautiful pursuit of future life from the ancestors,so they are also the emphasis of the protection and inheritance of traditional village and vernacular architecture culture in contemporary society.
