"Under The System Of Confucianism" Ancestral Hall Of Shanxi Architecture And Cultural Studies

China's society has long been under the rule of patriarchal system,so people had very profound clan concept.The ancestral temple reflects the ancestors' reverence and remembrance of their ancestors,whose basic function is first for people to worship ancestors and then to recognize ancestry.The concept “imperial power restricts till the county” ran through the Zhou Dynasty to Ming and Qing Dynasty.In order to facilitate the implementation of policies,the rulers promoted the ritual system,while the representative architecture was the universal ancestral temple.In other words,the ancestral temple also has the imprint of the feudal hierarchy.Shanxi Province has vast territory and abundant resources,just east of Hebei Province,west of Shanxi Province,south of Henan Province and north of Inner Mongolia.The architectural forms of ancestral temple in the five districts,South Shanxi,Southeast Shanxi,West Shanxi,Center Shanxi and North Shanxi are quite different.Different regions show different architectural styles,but they all promote the ethical and filial piety culture,which have a good supporting role in the development of socialist values.In addition,when collecting literature,it was found that there are less studies about Shanxi folk ancestral temple.China is a state of etiquette,where people pursue he concept of “Filial piety is the most important of all virtues”,and Shanxi Province is also one of the birthplaces of the Chinese nation,is the root of Chinese civilization,which also has been the center of national politics,economy,and culture since ancient times.Therefore,it is of great significance to research the ancestral temples in Shanxi Province.In this paper,it takes Shanxi folk ancestral temple as the research object,and startsfrom the “feudal ethnic culture” to analyze the architectural forms,spatial layout,and decoration culture under its influence.Then,it extends the sacrificial acts,cultural identities and social memory of the tribes.Finally,it proposes the protective proposals in light of the actual situation in Shanxi Province.
