Research On Metaphor Expression In The Architecture Of Folk Ancestral Halls In Shanxi,Shaanxi And Henan

With the deepening of the research on metaphor,metaphor in language and literature has been applied in daily life,and the rhetoric of metaphor has been integrated with various disciplines.However,according to the current data,there are few academic achievements on metaphor from the perspective of traditional Chinese architecture.As a symbol system,architecture should not only meet the functional needs of users,but also reflect the regional background,social system,folk characteristics,values and people’s inner desire through its external form or internal space.Especially in the ancient times when education has not been popularized,architecture is a more intuitive language than words.Firstly,the origin of metaphor concept is traced back from cognitive linguistics and rhetoric.Secondly,the architectural vocabulary is considered based on the theory of metaphor and architecture.Then through the field research and literature review,taking the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River Basin as the background,taking the folk ancestral temple in Shanxi,Shaanxi and Henan provinces as the object,starting from the internal relationship between the clan and the building,the paper systematically analyzes and summarizes the metaphorical expressions in the ancestral temple building,reading and feeling the traditional culture and its profound connotation contained in the folk ancestral temple.Finally,through the understanding of the ideas and wills of traditional architecture,around the core content,the construction mode of "metaphorization" will be explored,and the development direction of Chinese local architecture will be explored to provide experience and Enlightenment for the design of contemporary architecture.Different from the previous research results of ancestral temple,it does not describe the structure,technology and specific classification of buildings and their components too much,but directly seeks and analyzes the metaphorical content and social functions hidden in some building space,single building and building components,which is full of regional,national,historical and social human civilization.In order to accumulate theoretical results in related fields,help people to regain the forgotten information and civilization,improve the recognition and identification of contemporary Chinese ancestral hall and clan culture,and arouse human enthusiasm for the exploration of historic sites and heritage protection.
