Earth-rock dam which has good adaptability, safety and economy, become the choice of water resources and hydropower project construction. But its construction process is various and very complex, which has huge amount of work, mutual interference between each working procedure, especially in high earth-rock dam construction process. In this article, the information model of earth-rock dam is established by introducing the information model of water resources and hydroelectric project into the simulation of earth-rock dam construction system and choosing the 3d data structure and the construction of the relevant information which are suitable for the construction progress control and dynamic simulation of earth-rock dam. Meanwhile, earth-rock dam construction simulation model which can be used to simulate its construction process is established by the analysis of its construction system and using loop network technology. Finally the simulation visualization system of earth-rock dam construction based on Hydro BIM is developed by using the theory of the method and technical route, and used in practical engineering. The works of the study are as follows:(1) In view of information loss serious, low efficiency of engineering design and lack of information sharing in the whole life cycle of water resources and hydropower engineering, the lifecycle information model of water resources and hydropower engineering(Hydro BIM) is built, which reference architecture in the field of building information model(BIM) technology. Meanwhile, the Hydro BIM model classification and storage of information are stated, and the project of earth-rock dam Hydro BIM model of dam section is built by using the method of parametric modeling for the construction progress control and dynamic simulation of earth-rock dam.(2) Through analyzing of advanced geographic information system which is Skyline and a visualization platform of earth-rock dam construction system, using satellite image data and digital elevation model, a interactive 3d visualization platform under the network environment is created, and earth-rock dam HydroBIM model is integrated into visual platform.(3) Through the study and analysis of earth-rock dam construction system, it can be divided into three subsystems which are the dam production subsystem, dam material transportation subsystem and construction of the dam material subsystem. Construction simulation model of earth-rock dam is established by using loop network technology, and it comprehensively expounds the whole process of construction simulation modeling.(4) Simulation visualization system of earth-rock dam construction based on Hydro BIM is developed under the network environment, which uses the geographic information system of Skyline and the programming language of PHP. It is applied to the simulation of certain earth dam construction, which provides a good platform for the schedule control and dynamic simulation of project construction. Meanwhile, the study can verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the system.
