Abstract/Summary:
The appropriative highway to hydro-power project jobsite is not only a key road for transporting construction materials(large-size construction machines and building materials, etc.) during construction period, but also the main part of local traffic networks. So it is required to be designed as high-grade highway and with high construction quality. The lift thickness of road pavement is one of the most important factors which influence highway’s durability. The traditional control method of lift thickness relies mainly on randomly inserting steel rulers by constructors, so it is difficult to control pavement thickness continuously and easy to cause unsatisfied quality because of the man-made influences and extensive management. At the same time, other conventional methods, including string lines and non-contact balance beam, are difficult to ensure the accurate control and effective management of lift thickness, because the methods own inevitable shortages and can’t record the test results during paving. In terms of quality insurance of pavement thickness, the core-drilling method and nondestructive technologies can only achieve the post-management and fail to provide the absolute coordinates of the detected positions, so it’s impossible to realize the real-time control and precise positioning of the unsatisfied regions using these methods. To ensure the paving quality with considering the paving procedures and characteristics, it is necessary to conduct the further study of the pavement thickness monitoring technology for the appropriative highway to hydro-power project jobsite. The contents and achievements of the thesis are as follows:(1) Utilizing the automatic tracking positioning total station technology, Zigbee correspondence technology, laser ranging technology and GPRS technology, a real-time device of road elevation collection was developed and the road elevation calculation method was proposed. Thus,the elevation of pavement base surface and paving surface can be collected and calculated continuously, automatically, accurately and timely, which provides the fundamental basis for pavement thickness calculation,.(2) Based on the sampled elevations of the base surface, a triangulated irregular network(TIN) digital elevation model(DEM) was built, and the real-time calculation method of pavement thickness(the elevation difference between the base surface and paving surface) was proposed using the DEM, so the pavement thickness of sampling points could be achieved in real time.(3) A real-time pavement thickness monitoring system for the appropriative highway to hydro-power project jobsite was developed and preliminarily applied on someone project. The system can realize real-time displaying of lift thickness and timely alarming of unsatisfied quality regions, and then intuitively, accurately indicate the position coordinates of the regions to guide quality remedies. In addition, it is helpful to build up the integrated quality management mode of "drivers- contractors-supervisors- owners", combining the jobsite personnel(supervisors and constructors) and the remote concerned persons(designers and owners), which can improve the efficiency of construction quality management.
