| Nowadays, cities grow rapidly while land resource decrease. Inefficient land-use turns up frequently. Compactness and diversity have become an important direction of cities, which has been recognized widely. This paper focuses on land-use compactness and diversity, based on theories of compact city. Land resource is the foundation of the city’s physical space. And its compactness and diversity are pivotal standard to measure land-use intensive degree.Based on land-use data of different cities (Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai), different locations (central area, transition zone, marginal zone) and different scales (3km*3km、1km*lkm、500m*500m), this paper generalizes distribution pattern of land-use compactness and diversity, demonstrates the relationship between compactness and diversity, and analyze the changing trend.Furthermore, a few of construction modes will be analyzed in different scales (zones, communities, blocks) and different dimensions. After that, series of planning tactics are put forward to guide planning practice, one of which is regulatory detailed planning in West District of Yangzhong City. In the end, this paper quantifies land-use compactness and diversity in different designs, attempting to certify the feasibility and effectiveness of the construction modes and planning strategies described before. |
