LRT has a moderate volume, energy saving and environmental protection, which can effectively alleviate the traffic congestion of the city, so in many countries to develop. With the innovative technology of light rail transit, light rail as a city vehicle is using more and more cities. At present, because as the light rail public transport, mainly through its design features to achieve passenger and some advanced technical decisions, but light rail is not a simple industrial products, as a city vehicle, where should their natural environment environmental and social integration, to show the beauty of the shape at the same time, to be able to go into the city perfectly. Through theoretical product semantics guiding light rail vehicle design, in a study of light rail design based on product application semantics, and through the analysis, extraction, summary method of finding the product semantics used in light rail vehicle design on the law. By summarizing the theory to support the corresponding design practice.This paper discusses the concepts of product semantics and research, and summarized a product semantics guidance of research design, cognitive semantics, semantic emotion, a symbol of the three angles to explore the semantic semantics. By integrating the large number of pictures and text information, discuss the concepts of light rail vehicles. Since the design of light rail depends on the relevant technical theory, this article focuses on the 100% low-floor light rail, ground catenary-free power technology as a modeling technique theory, on this basis, to explore the elements constituting the light rail vehicle styling. Then based model consists of different elements composed of a discussed above, the conduct of foreign design study of existing light rail vehicles. Through analysis, summary, inductive Method of product semantics used in the LRT design, refine its corresponding application rule to guide the next design practices, and for future light rail vehicle design activities play a theoretical guidance.Finally, the constituent elements of light rail vehicles with the latest technology to its theoretical design, combined with the application of the law of product semantics in the LRT design to design a 100% low-floor light rail without catenary type vehicle styling.
