Utility Vehicles Semantic Applications

Based on the design of the utility vehicles, this thesis makes a deep analysis and discussion on the product semantics in the procedure of product design. With the thorough research for the design background and market, and overall desertion for the product semantics theory, this thesis first analysis the morphologic semantics, color semantics and materials semantics and their application in the products design. For the specific design on utility vehicles, the thesis first plans the semantics for the design procedure, and introduces the application of semantics in the design procedure. For the procedure of manufacture, the thesis also introduces some methods to deal with the factors that will affect the product semantics, such as materials and making models. This thesis comprehensively analyses the application of product semantics in the process of design and manufacture of utility vehicles. Based on the system analysis, the theory conclusions are applied in the design procedure of utility vehicles.Product semantics is about the research of the appearance of the products when they are used. And that will be applied to the design work. The importance of the product semantics is that the concept of product semantics is different from the traditional design theory in which the human factors are only considered by ergomonics. The product semantics expands the research field of ergomonics. According to the product semantics theory, the products should fulfill the practicality as well as the user's psychology. The product semantics is related with psychology, society and culture. It makes the products the bridge of human being and symbolized environments which are over the nature environment. The product semantics combined technique and material. With the product semantics and all kinds of design symbols as well as the deep research of the product, the designer can design the configuration and materials of the products which will be satisfied with the customs psychology. A good design will make the function and configuration unified together. If the designer can consider of the reality of the environment, the product will be more suitable for certain environment. That will make the products be more popular in the real market. And also will bring the great progress for the design and manufacture of the utility vehicles.
