Because of the influence of reality,material resources and human resources, people always perform experiments of weapon equipment through computer simulation instead of in reality. And virtual reality technology is needed in the computer simulation.Virtual reality is one of the hottest technology in recent years. It impacts on not only technology and entertainment but also military. Now, with the impact of the revolution of military, the concept of information warfare has gone deep into forces' minds. With the opportunity, virtual reality technology virtual reality technology is increasingly favored by the forces, It can be applied in many respects such as individual training, battlefield simulation, simulation exercises and so on.As one of applications of virtual reality technology, weapon simulation was applied in military long before. From the aircraft simulate training in early times to individual training system in today, weapon simulation plays an increasingly important roles. Regarding this as the cutting point, the procedure of missile firing at target is studied in this article, and a simulation system based on particles system?virtual terrain and Three-dimensional model technology is built. The main work of this paper are:First, some foundation knowledge about the missile trajectory simulation is introduced, for example, missile related coordinates, Computer Graphic coordinates and their mutual transformation.Secondly,the paper describes not only the creation of virtual world by simulating virtual sky andterrain,but also the reality of viewpoint switching in simulation system, expatiates the concept, principles, design and implementation of particle systems based on point sprite which can be used to simulate irregular model such as fire and explosion.Finally, based on the above technology, Microsoft's MFC framework which is mainly responsible for window displays and a window thread maintenance under Windows OS and Open GL graphics interface which is responsible for rendering three-dimensional computer graphics are used to develop simulation system. By doing this, the simulation system can make full use of the MFC's convenience on the development of windows under Windows OS and Open GL API's powerful performance on Computer Graphics. And the effect pictures of this simulation system are given.
