In heat exchanger production, the efficiency of producing components is far higher than that of the assembly operations, resulting in low productivity of heat exchangers. In most enterprises, the assembly operations are performed manually, thus the consistency of the quality and production efficiency cannot be guaranteed. Therefore, it is necessary to develop automatic assembly technology for heat exchanger production. This paper provides an automatic assembly solution for heat changer production on the basis of the research on manual assembly operations and suitable automatic assembly process. This paper also explores the development of automatic assembly equipment for two main station. The main contributions of this paper are as follows:(1) The components are classified based on traditional manual assembly process, and a suitable automatic assembly process for heat exchanger, a complete design of accompanying fixture of core work station and a design of the line body in the automatic assembly line are developed.(2) Complicated design of elbow automatic assembly equipment. Based on ANSYS nonlinear contact analysis, this part study on the interference assembly for elbow, analysis of the interference fitting, material, wall thickness, the influence of the amount of interference on the assembly. At last, this part provide the basis for the oil pressure cylinder type automatic assembly equipment through the pressure size calculation of small bending assembly interference.(3) Complicated design of a spring automatic assembly equipment, realize flexible spring assembly. According to the characteristics of the spring, analyzed the accuracy of the equipment of automatic spring assembly. Based on multi body system theory, establish D-H error matrix for the turnover mechanism of spring assembly equipment. Through sensitivity analysis for the geometric error, Genetic algorithm is used for optimization of the precision in this part, by using Monte Carlo method to optimize the results have been verified.The research of this paper can be used for providing reference for the precision analysis of the interference assembly technology and mechanism. And it has high engineering application value for the improvement of the assembly efficiency in heat exchanger production.
