With rapidly developing of national economy, the requirement to electricity is also very tensive. The thermal power is the main part of the electricity in our country, accounting for 72% of the national total capacity. The main safety problem in coal-fired thermal power plants is the dust hazard. A coal system is the most serious dust pollution of coal-fired power plants. The coal conveying system is the main field to produce the dust. The dust not only cause environmental pollution, accelerate the mechanical wear and electrical insulation, even may cause explosion and fire accidents, more serious is that make people suffer from occupational disease, hazards worker's health. Solving the problem of the dust pollution in coal handling system transfer point has important practical significance.The coal dust prevention and control of transfer point in coal handling system is a comprehensive work. Based on Ningdong power plant project this paper analysised the reasons of coal dust in the transfer point and designed the coal dust prevention and control system of transfer point in power plant coal handling system. The streamlined coal drop pipe design is proposed to reduce the production of coal dust, and the dry fog dust suppression technology is used to effectively control the coal dust. Based on the technical produres of the coal handling system, the coal dust control and prevevention plans are gaven. Based on the engineering parameters, the coal drop pipe design plan is decieded. Through the simulation of the streamlined coal drop pipe the design parameters of coal drop pipe is presented. The system parameters of dry fog dust suppression system and the configuration scheme of the nozzle in conveyor are gaven. It is to achieve the requirements within ‘the workplace of transfer point of coal dust under the integrated atmospheric pollutants discharge standard' GB16297-1996 and ‘the work place health standard for respirable dust in the air of GB16248-1996'.
