In battery boxing industry for battery electric vehicle(BEV),batteries are mainly manual based,which leads to higher working intensity and lower efficiency.To improve it,this project designed a control system for battery packing production line using SIMOTION D435 Motion Controller as core component.The paper introduces main points of this system as follows:(1)Scheme design of BEV battery packing production line.Firstly the controlled object and requirement were researched and analyzed in order to get general control scheme for the whole control system of BEV battery packing production line.On the basis of general scheme,a more detailed scheme have came out about conveyor and positioning systems not only for cells and combo of collets,but also for cell packs and cell boxes.We also designed the assembling system of collects and cell boxes and touch panel system.Moreover,routes of parallel robots grippers and electric cylinder grippers have been planned.(2)Hardware design of BEV battery packing production line.In this project,select hardware is in the top priority.The core hardware is SIMOTION D435 Motion Controller based on SINAMICS S120 servo drive.SIMOTION D435 connects with its motor drive module by Drive-CliQ,which can realize reliable completion of high-speed information exchange.ET200 M acts as subordinate station including three SM321-32 DI modules and two SM322-32 DO modules.We also established the system's communication network with PROFIBUS DP and industry Ethernet.The electric control system diagram has been designed for the whole controlling system of manufacturing line.(3)Software design of BEV battery packing production line.The software mainly includes SIMOTION control program and human-computer interface(HMI).Motion Control Programming of SIMOTION are based on SIMOTION SCOUT with LAD and MCC.HMI depends on WinCC flexible,which completes the details of each function for the control system.(4)Online debug of BEV battery packing production line.The system applies in the battery packing production line while it failure-free operation time reached three days.Mean time between failure(MTBF)are 40 day at a speed of 173 seconds per box.
