With the development of the industrialization in China, the steel structure has become one of the main forms of modern architecture in the field of Engineering structure.Phase, compared with the traditional reinforced concrete structure, steel structure as the structure form of the building has a role can not be ignored, but because there is a lag in the current steel structure design theory research, on the popularization and application of steel structure produced certain adverse effects.The economic performance of steel structure can be a big advantage, but may also be a major factor hindering steel structures are widely used, so the research on the optimization design of steel structure, that has significant economic significance.In the field of industrial construction, steel structure has been widely recognized, but in the civil construction, reinforced concrete structure still occupies a dominant position.In the design process of frame steel structure, calculation and computer aided technology using the present design theory, can effectively solve the problems in the design of steel structure.Were chosen in this paper the harmony tower steel structure project of the Daocheng County town, Shangri La tourist hub, for example, to structure optimization theory as the basis, using the finite analysis program, design study and optimization analysis of the harmony tower steel structure.In this paper, in-depth study of the structural optimization design theory, optimization criterion based on structure optimization design of three factors(design variables, objective function, constraint condition),(structural optimization design method, mathematical programming), then introduces the principle of the finite element analysis and two back to the finite element analysis program(SATWE, SAP2000).The harmony tower steel structure engineering, SATWE program is applied to structure stress analysis and structure design, the results of preliminary design. In the preliminary design based on the results, the establishment of finite element model in SAP2000 program, the internal force of the structure analysis, modal analysis and response spectrum analysis, according to the analysis results, structure optimization model.Set up the structure of the lateral displacement and cycle control objectives, the application of the optimization design module, the structure of the cross-section of the component optimization design.The optimization mathematical model is with steel frame structure with a total steel quantity minimum as the objective function, structure section size of components as design variables, current structure design specification requirements of structural strength, stiffness, technical measures as constraint conditions.The results showed that the needle of this structural engineering example total steel quantity reduced 13.35%, with significant economic benefits, through the optimization design of structure model is more reasonable, improve the safety performance of the structure to the optimization goal as we expected, has the reference value to the optimal design of this kind of steel structure engineering.In the process of practical engineering optimization design, it is recommended to optimize the structure model, and then optimize the design, which can improve the efficiency of structure design.
