Train Communication Network is the data communication system of the connection with all equipments in the train. And the mainly responsible is the transmission of control, diagnosis and monitoring information in the train. However TCN standard just stipulates the basic communication mechanism between different bus within the train, UIC556 protocol defines the data content, data meaning and vehicle various properties which are transmitted in the train. So, using UIC556 protocol on the base of TCN technology can realize the data transmission.Based on the studay of TCN standard and UIC556 protocol, this paper focused on the design and process of realization of the message data communication. Firstly, it analyzes the development of train communication network technology in recent years and analyzes the characteristics, development trend of train communication network and other mainstream communication technology. Secondly, it detailed studies the basic principle of the real-time protocol RTP, MVB and WTB in TCN standard as well as the various functions within the UIC556 protocol. Finally, it deeply researches the communication mechanisms of message data, the content and format of message telegram and the transmission process of message data telegram between two equipments of different vehicles. Last, using the advanced equipment which comes from the abroad to set up and develop the semi-physical simulation platform and detailed introducing the environment, selection of the hardware and function of the software.Then using the upper PC software UniCAP and CSS to simulate the example which is the driver checks all the diagnostic of vehicles.The result shows that message data can be successful accepted and transmitted in the HMI and the software of the platform. That indicates that message data can be transmitted in the semi-physical platform. So the EMU which is based on the UIC556 protocol can realize the message data interconnected and intercommunicated by the simulation platform.
