Since the “Four Thousand Billion Stimulus Plan” was carried out, infrastructure of China has developed rapidly, including highway. As cement concrete pavement has many disadvantages such as difficulties of rehabilitation, asphalt pavement has taken its place and become the main pavement structure in China. Traffic volume has been growing so fast that traffic volume in place is much larger than that anticipated. Besides, traffic load is beyond the capacity of pavement. As a result, early stage damage is very common in asphalt pavement. In order to improve pavement quality, and prolong service life, it is necessary to study the controlling technology for asphalt pavement construction.This thesis is based on Guilai Highway. First,target mixture ratio of AC-13,AC-20 and AC-25 was designed on the basis of in-place survey and mountains of test data. Gradation of AC-13 was optimized according the local climate and material quality. Construction quality control scheme was proposed in accordance with the engineering characteristic and in-place investigation.Second, rutting test, saturated surface dry method for density or relative density, and adhesion of aggregate and asphalt were discussed because of the needs of the construction quality control.Finally, distress cause in Guilai Highway construction was analyzed, such as whiting of surface, damage of base, and water gushing.The results show that whiting of surface was due to non-standard of construction process,poor adhesion of asphalt and aggregate,poor aggregate crushing resistance;damage of base was due to unreasonable of construction process,extension of construction period,transport vehicle overload,jerry-built;water gushing was caused because the construction process was not fine and medial strip edge was not completed in time.Meanwhile,a series of treatment measures were put forward to solve quality problems in Guilai Highway construction.
