At present, with the rapid development of the construction of power grid in China, the number of GIS substation is increasing constantly, because the operating voltage of GIS equipment is high, the internal space is very limited, resulting in very high electric field intensity. GIS equipment insulation margin is relatively small, once the GIS equipment inside the occurrence of some defects, equipment failure can easily occur, normal operation will affect the power system. Therefore, to strengthen and improve the GIS equipment state detection means, has important significance to guarantee the safe and reliable operation of GIS equipment.First, the GIS equipment to carry out partial discharge detection of live state, GIS partial discharge formation of the reasons, types and discharge characteristics were analyzed.Secondly, on the basis of domestic and foreign GIS partial discharge detection technology research, combined with Yingkou Power Supply Company’s actual situation, proposed will ultrasonic(Acoustic Emission-AF) and ultra high frequency(Ultra High Frequency-UHF) joint detection method based on using to Yingkou area grid GIS detection and diagnosis, the research and development of a GIS Partial Discharge Detection and diagnosis system. System four detection channels can be based on different test programs access ultrasound or ultra high frequency signal unit, the detection signal through the acquisition, conditioning and amplification after the digital signal processing module to be transmitted to the portable host. The data analysis module of the analysis and diagnosis software installed on the portable computer is used for feature extraction and recognition of the data and the map. System operating frequency band at 300MHz--1500MHz(ultra high frequency); 10KHz--200KHz(ultrasound).Finally, the system is applied to the test site, according to the comparison of data statistics and fingerprint database after the assessment of GIS insulation state, judging the defect types and locations of defects, and presenting maintenance suggestions. Provide a strong basis for the GIS equipment safe operation and status maintenance, also verified the system applied to the scientific and effective in Yingkou area.
