Electric power communication network is formed and developed with the development of power systems. As the bearer of each integrated service network, the planning of the new generation network directly affects the development of the grid carrying various types of business. Therefore, in order to meet the communication platform demands of smart grid construction in Ordos area, it is necessary to build a "highly reliable, diversified, all-round, high-speed" communication network to provide safe and reliable high quality communication services for electricity production and meet the communications business needs using the advanced technology and equipment, based “the 13 th five-year” power grid construction and renovation plan.Firstly the transmission network, service network, supporting network of these three aspects of the current situation in Ordos power communication network is analyzed, further research the main problems exist status quo power communication network, and according to the development of the national grid, the Ordos region faces power communication network the new situation; and then analyzes the composition and characteristics of electric power communication network communication services proposed to calculate the flow rate for the business section of Ordos power communication network approach, selecting business section according to the actual situation, and a statistical prediction bandwidth requirements; Finally,Ordos regional power backbone communication network and equipped with electric communication network planning objectives, from the backbone transmission network, service network, supporting network three aspects of the plan details the backbone communications network, and proposed building a disaster recovery plan communication system, and made a plan with electric communication network based on business needs.
