There are not enough lifting equipments on transmission towers,as a result that the maintenance and climbing work could only rely on manpower,which has big labor intensity and low efficiency. The drawbacks of manpowerwill be more prominent when many tools should be carried up or the emergency appears.With the development of large-scale power construction,it is urgent to design an automatic equipment to improve the way of climbing tower,and increasethe work efficiency and safety.The thesis designs a new light-load equipment for climbing towers which is applied to engineering is based on the current situation of maintenancework. Firstly,a structure design project is provided starting with the designs of body,drive system, and safety. Strength under different working conditions of the climbing equipment should be checked according to the actual working situations. Then a electrical control system including the whole structure,the choice of components,and control method is finished. After that,developing a series of plans to settle different problems in engineering application of the climbing equipment,and they have been applied to AC transmission line projects.The results indicate that the climbing equipment could meet the design requirements not only on structure form,but also on control system.In engineering application,it can satisfy the needs of multiple towers and improve themaintenance work efficiency,which lay the foundation for large-scale promotion of climbing equipments.
