Cathode ray tube (CRT) is a hazardous e-waste, In order to explore the feasibility of CRT glass used as fine aggregate in concrete,solve the waste CRT glass resource problem. Test use finely ground CRT glass (refer to leaded glass cone) as a new fine aggregate to replace 0%,20%,40%,60% of ordinary sand and magnetic iron ore, and respectively made different content of CRT glass concrete specimens. The above-mentioned concrete specimens were tested for some key indicators of work performance,mechanical properties, ?-ray shielding performance and lead leaching properties. Found the influence of concrete performance when CRT glass as a fine aggregate. Identified the changes in low between different content of CRT glass and the work performance,mechanical properties and ?-ray shielding performance of concrete.To provide a realistic basis of the hypothesis that CRT glass could replace the fine aggregate in concrete.We obtained the following conclusions:1.Replace the sand and the magnetic iron ore with ground CRT glass in the preparation of concrete. When the content of CRT fine aggregate increase, fresh concrete slump becomes larger, the workability has been weakened,28d cube compressive strength, elastic modulus, axial compressive strength will decrease a certain degree.After acid washed CRT glass concrete could meet safety standards for lead deposited. Considering the impact of CRT glass on strength, the content of CRT glass in concrete is not permitted to exceed 40% of the total fine aggregate.2. Compared with single ordinary sand or magnetic iron ore fine aggregate concrete, the concrete mixing the CRT glass fine aggregate shows the higher line ?-ray absorption coefficient and the thinner half-thickness of attenuation when CRT glass content increases. This shows that use CRT glass as fine aggregate can improve the ability of radiation shielding in concrete.3. Compared to the shielding materials such as magnetic iron ore, ordinary sand concrete ?-ray shielding ability is poor. But by replacing part of the river sand with CRT glass in concrete, its shielding capability has been significantly improved. When the CRT replacement reached 60%, the effect of radiation can approximate reach 100% magnetic iron ore fine aggregate concrete.After CRT glass replacing portion of magnetic iron ore, concrete bulk density become decreases, but the line absorption coefficient increases. Indicating that the CRT glass can be used as a new type of radiation shielding material for concrete,and can provide some reference in electronic waste recycling and other concrete radiation studies.
