Citizen transportation choice behavior is not only the external performance of travel method decision-making for citizens, but a significant influence factor of the urban transport structure. The moderate-income group is the important part of social members of China, thus is the stabilizer of society. The social structure of China in the future will be the style of two small ends with large middle. Choices of transport method of the moderate-income group will affect distribution of social traffic among different traffic methods. Thus, this work is based on middle-income group of travel choice behavior of structural equation model, analyzed the key influence factor of transportation choice behavior. Then we put forward the corresponding intervention countermeasures to regulate traffic traffic supply and demand, and provided theoretical support for transportation planning design and implementation of traffic management measures. Main contents of this work are as follows:Firstly, we establish the definition method of moderate-income group of Jinzhong City. We take the mean value of the family total income of this area as the lower limit of the moderate-income group's economic level, and the double of it as the upper limit.Secondly, this work classifies the influence factors of travel choice of the moderate-income group into six independent, the non-related parts, such as individual attributes, family characteristics, economic level, level of transport service, travel characteristics and travel chains with the principal component analysis and clustering analysis method. The common factor affecting moderate-income group travel choice is obtained by statistical analysis, as is taken as precondition of latent variable setting of structural equation mode. The multivariable causal relationship between travel choice and its influence factors is established based on the structural equation model as the basis to analyze the effect of each factor on the travel choice of moderate-income group.Thirdly, we quantified the effect of each influence factor on travel choice of the moderate-income group based on the load factor and path coefficient of the structural equation model, and obtained the key indicator of each latent variable which affects the travel choice. Finally, we gave priority to controllable factors after sorting based on analysis of influence factors of moderate-income group travel choice, and provided approaches to administer traffic jam.Namely, by lowering the complexity of the travel chain, reduce the travel distance, safeguard public transportation and limit the car to regulate the structure of residents travel mode. The specific measures include:balance the jobs and housing spatial distribution, change the concept of travel, improve public transport service level and limit traffic demand disorderly growth.
