Traditionally, the information security risks of the power grid were within the power system itself. However, with the development of smart grid, its security boundary is gradually close to the user side, due to the large number of the devices and diverse means of communication in the user side, dedicated network or network isolation and other original security schemes of the smart grid are difficult to be effectively implemented on the user side. Therefore, the user side will become the weak point of the smart grid. In view of this, this paper studied the information security issues about the user side of the smart grid, analyzed the security needs, and proposed the corresponding solutions.Due to the multiple types of users in the smart grid, its mode and structure are diverse, it is difficult to study the information security of the user side under this background. For this purpose, this paper first discussed the overall framework of the smart grid user side, Referred to some relevant international standards, analyzed the key components and relevant systems of the user side, in the end the user side model of the smart grid was established, which makes the research object more explicit.This paper then discussed the security risks and requirements of the smart grid user side and briefly introduced the related security technologies. In order to ensure the information security of the energy management system, a security solution based on IBC was proposed in the paper, the scheme can be divided into two parts. One part is the design of the overall architecture, the paper discussed the function of each module in the architecture in detail. Another part was about the identity authentication, a IBC based identity authentication protocol was proposed. In order to prove its security, this paper carried out both formal and non-formal analysis on the protocol, the analysis results showed that the designed protocol was secure.The information security of the user side subsystem was discussed in the end of the paper. First, the overall framework of the subsystem with information security as the primary purpose was designed, the design based on multi loop electric meter and infrared gateway was made for resident users, for other types of users, the paper puts forward the idea of smart power distribution box and designed the corresponding scheme. This paper then focuses on the information security of WiFi and ZigBee, which are the best perspective network technologies in the user side subsystem. For the security of WiFi, some security strategies was discussed. To prevent internal attacks from the network, an equipment identity authentication scheme based on WPA2-PSK was proposed. In view of ZigBee, this paper analyzed its security mode, classified the equipments of the user side subsystem and then set up the security model according to their characteristics.
