| Architectural design is inherently fuzzy. Based on the theory of classic sets, traditional mathematical methods are not well adapted to this fuzzy feature, which leads to the lack of effective means of quantitative analysis in architectural programming and evaluation. Born in the 1960 s,fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method based on fuzzy mathematics theory, broke through the limitations of classical mathematics, and is well adapted to the fuzzy characteristics of architectural design. The introduction of fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method in the field of architectural designhas a strong practical significance.Under such academic background, this paper developed anew methodnamed fuzzy bi-directional hierarchy method, to modify the shortages of existing ones. The former part of this paper made a detailed argument about the definition and principles, operating procedures, and possible applicationsof the new method in the context of mathematics. In the latter part, this paper applied fuzzy bi-directional hierarchy method as a quantitative evaluation method to architectural programming and architectural evaluation. Finally, this paper verified the practical feasibility of the fuzzy bi-directional hierarchy method through a real architectural example. |
