VHF air-ground data link, which based on aircraft communication, addressing and reporting system(ACARS), has been started and improved in the field of Civil Aviation of China. The relevant theory and technology research of ACARS is increasingly valued. In order to do more studies about VHF air-ground data link communications of the ACARS system, surface ACARS system simulation platform is built, and the message receive and process packets of the ACARS system is replayed in this paper.ACARS system simulation platform can be achieved on the ground VHF signal reception, and restore the signal using digital demodulation techniques. After pretreatment,the signal is interpreted according to certain criteria, and displayed in the form of message.Ultimately, the project can achieve engineering value conversion of the message, can be understood by the ground users, and stored in the database to prepare for the later development.This paper describes the relevant content of the ACARS system and the protocol standard of very high frequency(VHF) communications in details. A ground simulation platform of the ACARS system is built In VC + + programming environment.This paper focuses on the MSK signal demodulation method that based on the DFT, and applies to the system. Decoding thought and algorithms according to the protocol standards ARINC618 is proposed, and implemented in the system. The idea of creating a class in the database and Corresponding algorithms is put forward according to ARINC620 protocol standards, the message project value is conversed. Eventually, the received air packets are stored in the real-time database according to the format. Not only do the aircraft packets achieve real-time display, but also the packets can be stored for the analysis support in future.
