| Most cities uses physical barrier to separate vehicles and bicycles at intersections. However, there is little research on barrier setting conditions and how to confirm the form and width of barrier.This paper selected signalized intersections as research object. By investigating several intersections with different forms of barrier, the research analyzed running characteristics of bicycles. Then, relying on analysis of the influence factors of conflict between vehicles and bicycles, the research confirmed significant factors and established conflict model. Based on cyclists’perception of intersection safety, this paper constructed service level model and put forward barrier setting forms and width at intersections under different service levels.Firstly, this paper chose several signalized intersections with different barrier forms to design survey scheme. Then, through the statistical analysis of survey data, describe the process of queueing, swelling and dissipating of bicycles. Then, this paper selected swelling width and swelling quantity to analyze swelling characteristics of bicycles at intersections and theoretical calculated models of swelling width and quantity. By analyzing the dissipating behavior of bicycles at intersections, this paper established a logistic model and concluded calculation model of bicycles twice swelling quantity.Additionally, based on the concept and mechanism of conflict between vehicles and bicycles, through analyzing the influence factors of conflict, determine the main factors as vehicles volume, bicycles swelling quantity and twice swelling quantity. Determine significant influence factors of conflict quantity by partial correlation analysis, and use the actual data to do multiple regression analysis and finally put forward regression model with conflict quantity, swelling quantity and twice swelling quantity.Finally, according to the definition of barrier facilities service level at intersections, based on cyclists’feeling of intersection safety, this paper selected conflict quantity as evaluation index of service level. Use the method of system clustering and fuzzy cluster to divide the conflict sample into eight categories, and study the intersection barrier facilities service level classification. On the basis of eight class conflict sample, this paper eventually divided service level into six grades through adjusting. Finally, this paper put forward the intersection barrier setting form and width under different service level grade.The research achievements of this paper have the theoretical and practical significance on urban traffic planning, design and managemengt. |
