| Since the reform and opening up, C hina has made rapid development of higher education. Many changes would bring new development opportunities and challenges in the university campus, inc luding the expansion of the university campus enrollment, the management system to adjustment and the school- running pattern. What’s more, there would be faced with much more serious problems in cold regions, such as the harsh climate, environment conditions and the lack of resources. Thus, teaching area, which is the functional core of the university, would have become the key points of the university campus design in cold regions. In this paper, teaching area of the university campus in cold regions would be the studied, based on the contemporary mult i-disciplinary educational background, the cold climate and geographical environment. In addition, the intensive design ideas of have been proposed, which could be conducive to realize the sustainable development of the university campus in cold regions.Firstly, the article explains the research basics, current research situation, related concepts and research methods systematically. Then based on field research and case studies, the article make s the analysis on reasons of the intensive development of teaching area in cold regions. Furthermore, the connotative meaning and princip les of intensive design have been studied. Thus on this basis, the article step further for more detailed study on the subject from two aspects respectively—the design of layout and function. In the aspect of layout design, the article has shown the study on community organization, adaptive layout pattern and proper dynamic development. In the aspect of function design, it mainly talks about the suitable design techniques of functional integration, environmental space sharing and streamline organizing.The purpose of the article is to search for the intensive design methods for teaching area of university campus in cold regions. Multiple methods have been used in process, such as statistical analysis, field research, induction prototyping and graphic research methods. The author hopes that this writing could provide possible ideas and methods to solve problems and challenges in the design of university campus teaching area in cold regions. What’s more, proper references provided for the future study is also expected on this subject. |
