Weight is a parameter which not only has an adverse effect on the safety operation of aircraft, but also is related to the economic benefits of the airline company. A loading of high quality can utilize aircraft's carrying capacity to the extreme extent with safety guaranteed, and create benefits for airlines; otherwise, the company may operate at a loss, even with the occurrence of catastrophic accidents. Therefore, it's desperately of realistic significance for airline company or researchers to make sure that there exists no error in takeoff weight.Takeoff weight errors may bring the aircraft takeoff distance long, the calculation error of stall speed, the climb performance and nine other consequences, which are always followed by accidents. Thus, in order to reduce or avoid the corresponding consequences, it's necessary to conduct a research on takeoff weight. At present, the research on takeoff weight error is only a statistic of the incidents and accidents, qualitatively analyzes the causes and consequences, and point out the ways to control them. Yet, it's obvious that there is a lack of research on the risk.In order to fill up these deficiencies, this thesis carry out an analysis of the factors contributing to its happen and the main outcomes, comes up with the solution of applying flight data analysis into the risk management of takeoff weight errors based on QAR data, and introduces the risk control method as well.Firstly, in this thesis, we calculate the aircraft's takeoff weight by selecting flight data in the cruise phase. And then, compared with the gross weight in QAR data, we get a quantitative description of takeoff weight error. After that, An analysis of the possible consequences of it and its risk assessment are carried out.The takeoff weight error risk analysis and control here is a quantitative analysis of the errors of takeoff weight, which makes up the deficiencies of the risk management research in this aspect. The method presented here can not only be used to assess the risk of a single flight and the control of it, but also can be used to build the risk management of takeoff weight error for the airline company, and then the safety management system driven by flight data analysis.
