In the modern air traffic control system, controllers are the decision-maker in the process of control, this determines the interaction between controllers’ human factors and air traffic behavior. In radar control environment, controllers through surveillance radar screen communicate with the pilots to obtain traffic information, then on this basis to make traffic control decision-making. Understand and grasp the controller’s access to information model is the basis of correct evaluation and prediction controllers’ actions. Eye movement behavior characteristics of space and time are the visual physiology and behavior in the process of information extraction, it has a direct or indirect relationship with people’s psychological activity. The application of eye movement behavior in the field of air traffic can be used to real-time reflect the air traffic behavior.The research content of this article is the relationship between characteristics of sector traffic and controllers’ eye movement behavior. With the help of mathematical statistics and data mining algorithm, from the controller command in the process of target tracking, identification of conflict, and attention distribution three aspects to explore the correlation between sector traffic characteristics and controllers’ rem behavior. Firstly, elaborated the research background and the significance. Then characteristics of sector traffic measurement method is proposed, and based on actual data of traffic characteristics demonstrated this measurement method is feasible. Then introduces the related concepts of eye movement behaviours, and base on fixation identification algorithm preliminary explored the effect of working experience on eye movements, the result show that experienced controllers have more efficient retrieval strategy, but all the controller’s blink frequency has the self-organized criticality, and with no obvious relevance work experience. Finally, combining the above analysis results, through two methods of time series correlation analysis to explore the relationship between characteristics of sectors traffic and the controllers’ eye movement behavior. The results showed that after training system controllers in the process of command can guarantee for all target tracking as soon as possible and has strong ability of identifying for potential conflict, however, as the growth of the working time can lead to increased fatigue, controllers attention showed a trend of attenuation.
