As the indispensable transport facility in the daily life of ordinary people, escalator 's security is related to the passengers' safety. In all structures and components of the escalator, the escalator truss structure as the main load-carrying parts has an important position. In the process of designing escalator truss structure, designers used the finite element simulation to analyze and research the strength of the escalator truss structure, in order to ensure that meet the design requirements.In this paper, multiple types of escalator truss structure which were designed by an escalator company were taken as the research object. Then researched the secondary development based on the finite software ANS YS and finally developed an automatic finite element modeling and analysis system of escalator truss structure.Firstly, the process of escalator truss structure finite element simulation analysis has the characteristics of various types, variable structure size and complex operation. In order to r educe the number of model parameters, simplify the finite element modeling process and improves the efficiency of modeling, combined with previous research method, this paper researched a method of escalator truss integral automatic modeling. In the every modeling steps, the whole escalator truss structure as an operating object, made a reasonable plan for the entire modeling process.And then, in order to expand the scope of application and increase the flexibility of the automatic finite element modeling and analysis system of escalator truss structure, this paper presented another method of escalator truss structure modular automatic modeling, which can achieve the combination of different escalator truss modules. This method also can make the designers achieve the finite element simulation efficiently for the new types of escalator truss structure.Finally, based on the above two kinds of automatic modeling method, used the secondary development method of ANS YS parametric design language APDL to complete the basic finite element modeling and simulation analysis process of escalator truss structure. In the development environment of VB, des igned the user operation interface, developed the automatic modeling and analys is system of escalator truss structure and tested the system. The result showed that the system can achieve the automatic modeling and analysis, get the report files of the analysis results, meet the basic analysis of actual needs.
