At present, our party and the state attaches great importance to the environmental damage caused by rapid urbanization development. The eighteenth report of the party clearly put forward the "vigorously promote the construction of ecological civilization" strategic decision.As the ecological basis and the basis of green space of the city development, urban green space system plays an important role in improving the quality of the urban environment and living standards. Under this background, the research on urban green space system planning and construction have attracted more and more attention, the state promulgated the "green city construction norms", “the urban green space system planning outline "," National Garden City standards, "and so on to guide the planning and construction of urban green space system. Due to the broader area of our country and complex terrain, there are a large amount of city types, the regular standards and norms can not be a good guide in the urban green space planning and construction in some big cities, high density city and mountain city. Therefore, it is necessary to give some research on the characteristics of these special types of urban green space system, and do some adaptive research on the existing green space system planning, which will become the development direction of urban green space system planning research in China.Based on the background, this paper select The New North Zone of Chongqing as the research object. By referring to the sorting and analysis of related literature and relevant national standards, we give an adaptability study on the green space layout and the index system of green space planning in the New North Zone through the landscape ecology and greenbelt recreational theory, in order to explore a more suitable green space planning system based on its own characteristics of the green space, what’s more, it will improve the framework of the theory foundation and method for mountain city green space system planning.The specific research content mainly includes the following parts: the first part: the research direction and the research progress of green space system planning. First of all, the background and purpose of the study of introduction in the first chapter leads to the research direction of this paper to be the southwest mountain city green space system planning adjustment. the next chapter, by summarizing the related concepts of the research contents of this paper and summed up the predecessors in the green space system planning of green space layout and the index system, we find some available advice for reference of theory and experience, which provides theoretical and practical basis for the argument in this paper; The second part: the status quo and existing problems of the urban green space system planning in the mountainous city.
