The high-capacity charging and discharging equipment for X boat has a significant impact on the performance, security and life of batteries of X boat. In addition, harmonics are produced by charging or discharging and the safety of the grid and electric equipments are influenced. Therefore, developing a high-performance, low-harmonic and high-capacity charging and discharging equipment for X boat is significant.Firstly, the voltage of X boat lead-acid battery is analyzed by two aspects of internal mechanism and external performance. By comparisons among different charging and discharging methods, the appropriate charging and discharging method adapted to the X-boat is obtained.Secondly, comparisons between 6-pulse and 12-pulse rectifier circuit about harmonics and the power factor are made. The results of mathematical analysis and simulation experiments show that, whether the topology is in series or in parallel, the power factor, harmonic contents and harmonic components of a 12-pulse rectifier are better than those of a 6-pulse rectifier circuit. Thus the harmonic pollution will decrease with the topology of 12-pulse rectifier for the charging and discharging equipment of X boat.To adapt to different voltage batteries in X5 boat and X9 boat, a switching-topology both in series and in parallel is obtained based on 12-pulse rectifier. Then the control method of the 12-pulse rectifier is analyzed. After that, the voltage closed loop regulation and the current closed loop regulation are obtained. On this base, the control method of 12-pulse rectifier circuit is put forward, and the hardware circuit is designed.On the base of these work, other softwares and hardwares are designed and the charging and discharging test system is built on XX port for X boat. The practical operation results indicate that the charging and discharging equipment for batteries of X boat can not only satisfy two different kinds of batteries of X boat, but also make the harmonic pollution decreases.
