The large caliber zoom projection system is easy to produce resonance phenomena during transportation. At the same time, the temperature will influence its imaging quality.Therefore, mechanics analysis and thermal-optical analysis should be done for forecasting its adaptability in different environments after completing the system.In this paper, the simplified large caliber zoom projection system is analyzed with FEM.From the results of modal analysis, the first order of the system frequency is 79.78 Hz, which is greater than 50 Hz ×120 % of the secondary road transportation. The phenomenon of resonance will not be produced during transportation. The frequency response analysis is done for system from 1 to 100 Hz. The system frequency response curve is got for proving the correction of result of modal analysis. Based on the results of frequency response analysis, the maximum stress is 191 MPa which is far less than 276 MPa of yield stress of materials. The result shows that the material can satisfy the requirement of system. In thermal-optical analysis, the maximum temperature difference of the system can reach approximately 54 ? on the basis of satisfying the imaging quality.
