Because of the uneven distribution of time and space of water resources in China,and water supply engineering characterizes for economies of scale, there is a steady growth in new long distance water supply engineering construction. Meantime, along with the rapid development of urbanization, the amount new construction and reconstruction water supply engineering turn to be more and more. In this kind ofengineering, the number and position of booster pump station is critical to the economy and safety of water supply system. However, this research area has a low attention because of complicated model and experience blackness. Therefore, it's meaningful for water supply system design to build a specific model to figure out the position of booster pump station.Firstly, the position model of booster pump station which fitting to plain water supply pipe nets was built according to integrated unit prices under various pipe pressure levels. The target function of this model is reduced cost value, and solution algorithm is ABC. The optimal position solution of various water supply flow and distance were compared and analyzed. The result shows: in Anhui, a typical plain area, the first booster pump station should be set when the pipe head loss comes to 110m; when an area sets more pump stations, the lift of each pump station shouldmeet the condition that outlet pipe pressure levelsare the same. The computational formula forsetting the first pump station was received successfully in acritical point in plain district after a series of theoretical analysis.Based on the plain model, the position model of booster pump station which fitting to mountain towns was built considering two aspects: big terrain slope and parallel pipe pressure changing situation in accident. And this model is verified by an engineering sample. Results turns out that: the ration between static lift and pipe length is larger than a certain value, pump station should be set; when an area sets more pump stations, the lift of each pump station should meet the condition that outlet pipe pressure levels are the same. The computational formula for pipe pressure level critical point in parallel water supply pipe was got successfully as well.Finally, the position of pump station setting model fitting to riverside mountain city was built according to the characteristics of water distribution nets and topographic feature riverside mountain city. This model was verified by a certain engineering as well. The model simplifies the water supply service area into two districts: center district with ix?iy; pointdiffusion area with inhomogeneous variation of flow or the elevation sitting on a special position. The target function islowest costof infrastructure and operation.The method of building model is more simple ?convenient?applicable and practical,having less disturbance as well compared to traditional model establishing method which is needed to input plenty pipe net topology messages and junction data, and judged forrationality by engineeringexperience.
