Design Of Aircraft Ground Deicing Information System Based On GIS

Aircraft parked at the airport will be covered with ice on the surface during winter or in cold weather conditions, it will affect the safety of the aircraft. In order to ensure the safety of the flight, deicing work for aircraft should be finished before taking off. However, the growth rate of deicing equipment is slower than that of aircraft, which make aircraft deicing work become one of the main reason for the delay of flight, especially at large hub airports, the problem is even more serious. Therefore, it is of great significance to the development of China's civil aviation industry to relieve delays of flights and improve the running ability as well as operational efficiency by realizing rational allocation of de-icing resources.In order to solve the problem mentioned above, aircraft ground deicing information system based on GIS is designed, including design of system architecture, database and monitoring terminal. The overall system structure consists of icing predict unit, data acquisition unit, database server, monitoring terminal and display terminal. Data acquisition unit communicate with database server through wireless network, other parts interact with the database through LAN. After analyzing data flow of aircraft ground deicing, database server is designed and developed by using Microsoft SQL Server 2008, including database entity-relationship concept design, logical design and security design as well as database performance optimization plan and database access methods. Software design and development of monitoring terminal, including terminal for airline, terminal for deicing company and terminal for airport is finished in Visual Basic development environment, including software interface design and key programme code design after analyzing workflow and demands of Aircraft ground deicing management work.The aircraft ground deicing information system based on GIS allows airport authorities, airlines and deicing company exchange information timely, realizes real-time observation and dispatch of aircraft ground deicing resources as well as providing basis for aircraft ground deicing management work,which improve efficiency and security of aircraft ground deicing.
