Research On Small Power Pulse Supply For Electromagnetic Clutch In Wheel EV Drive

The wheel EV(electric vehicle) drive has so many advantages that it is considered the future trend of pure electric vehicle.Novel bi-stable PM electromagnetic clutch(PMBEC) for wheel EV drive, which is an invention from our research group, is proven effective for reducing electromagnetic impulse and mechanical shock in the procedure of starting and stopping vehicle. However, the existence of position detection and electric brush slip-ring in drive circuit, brings damage to simplicity and reliability of device.The goal of this thesis is to propose a drive circuit with the features of simplicity and high efficiency, and also free the PMBEC device from slip ring, brush and position detection etc. After analyzing static character of PMBEC and the drive circuit of some typical electromagnetic actuator, a small power pulse supply is proposed. The derived analytical expression of the pulse width is of great value in designing and experimental adjustment.The whole passage includes the following content:Background illustration.
