In recent years, foreign objects(FOD) damage to the aircraft from the airport is one of the safety issues in aviation, which has gradually become the focus of common concern. With the dramatic increase in the amount of flights, the FOD is also a growing trend. This paper presents risk management study conducted on FOD, in order to enhance airport safe capabilities and to prevent aircraft accidents caused by FOD.First, the source of FOD was analyzed and then according to the process of guaranteeing the aircraft from the airport security and airfield management department, the source of FOD was differentiated. the model identification method of MMEM was selected according to the principle features of FOD risk identification and recognition of the principle of common, eventually 17 risk factors were identified from the aspects of man?machine?environment and management.Second,43 FOD risk indicators were established based on the principles established indicators,the reference to civil aviation regulations and expert advice.FOD risk evaluation index system were established and, the quantitative methods of the indicators was determined according to field research and expert opinion. Finally, according to the evaluation of the characteristics of FOD and the research on the models, The DHGF(the Meta-sunthes is of improved Delphi, Analytic hiercchy process, Grey interconnection degree and Fuzzy comprehensive evaluating) was selected and the advantage of the model was analyzed. Taking two airports as examples, FOD risk assessment was carried out, and the evaluation results were analyzed, while the FOD improvement measures were proposed.
