One of the most important tasks of a busy airport is to increase runway capacity.Reasonable design and rapid exit taxiways application can not only significantly increase the capacity of airport runway, but also reduce flight delays. However, rapid exit taxiways are lacking in research on designs, operation theories and methods in our country, as a result, the designs are monotony and some built rapid exit taxiways do not play their due role. Therefore,in-depth studies have significant meanings for the optimization of airport planning design and improving operational efficiency.Aircraft landing process was deeply studied in this paper, the key factors affecting landing distance was analyzed and correction factors were quantified. The Monte Carlo methods, heuristic deceleration model with aircraft landing performance were combined to determine the optimal landing position set. In consideration of the runway surface conditions,then we established the optimization model for rapid exit taxiways to minimize weighted runway-occupancy time, and used dynamic programming algorithm to solve the model, which can give the performance evaluation of an existing rapid exit taxiway or optimization plan for reconstruction and expansion. In addition, the calculation model of aircrafts taking off by rapid exit taxiways was established, and it was proved by examples that taking off by rapid exit taxiways can improve the operation efficiency of airport taxiways, the paper proposes the method of rapid exit taxiway calculations designs and measures for ensuring its safety and efficiency based on the combination of standard geometry of rapid exit taxiway with aircraft performance and characteristics. Through the application of analysis and optimization of rapid exit taxiways at NanNing airport, the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed model and approach were validated.
