Large automatic drilling & riveting system is one of most effective ways to realize the aircraft automatic assembly.It can improve aircraft's lifetime. So, the control system for drilling & riveting process is developed,and the main contents is as followings:?According to the automatic drilling & riveting technology of aircraft, choosing the technical indices of the control system,the paper design the hardware frame of the control system for drilling& riveting machine. Analysis of the control system's key points and difficulties, designing the process of control system,and combined with the mechanical structure of automatic drilling & riveting machine designs the structure of the control system.? The paper proposed position inverse algorithm of drilling & riveting machine.Using cross-product of vectors to measure the normal of processing location,the paper presents the method of normal's measurement and computational formula.Building a mathematical model of the position inverse algorithm, position inverse algorithm account for the required adjustment for each axis when the working point and end effector is adjusted from the initial relative position to the expected relative position is proposed. The experimental verification position inverse algorithm of drilling & riveting machine, so, verify the accuracy of the inverse position solution algorithm.? According to the analysis of the functional requirements for the drilling & riveting machine,adopting Windows operating system,the paper developed the control software for the drilling & riveting machine by using VS2008 software development platform.Combining position inverse algorithm of drilling & riveting machine and automatic drilling & riveting technology, the paper designs instructions for drilling & riveting machine.The experiment indicates automatic processing of drilling & riveting machine feasibility.The result shows that the control system can be applied to drilling & riveting machine by the paper designed,and the position inverse algorithm is correct,and the control software can control the processing of automatic drilling & riveting machine. The drilling & riveting machine's working accuracy meet the requirements of automatic assembly,for the development of aviation industry of China and production of automatic drilling and riveting machine providing a technical basis.
