On this basis, the load level of Jiutai is forecasted effectively.The basic methods and principles of reactive power compensation in distribution network are studied. Firstly, the influence of reactive power compensation on grid is analyzed. There are two aspects, one is the influence of voltage, and the other is the influence of reactive power loss.. On this basis, the selection of reactive power compensation mode, the determination of compensation capacity and the optimization of compensation position are introduced.Thirdly, the capacity and position of reactive power compensation of distribution network are researched. First, the principle of reactive power balance of distribution network is put forward, and the voltage characteristics under different load conditions of Jiutai Xiping distribution network are analyzed. Based on this principle and the specific voltage characteristics, the optimization methods of the reactive power compensation devices under different optimization objectives are introduced, including the loss reduction target, the voltage level, the compensation equivalent, the minimum loss and so on. The optimization method of reactive power configuration in Xitai town of Jiutai is determined and the optimization results are obtained.In the PSASP software, the paper analyzes the reactive power optimization strategy of the Xiying urban distribution network in Jiutai City.
