Xishu garden is a kind of typical regional garden which locateds on Xishu garden Plain also the center of Sichuan basin and has been effected by geographical environment, social environment. It originated from the Ancient Shu and Ancient Qin and evolved out of five garden styles. With the in-depth study, and improving gradually the gardending theory,Xishu garden has established theoretical framework in front of the world. Waterscape is Xishu garden spirit is Xishu garden the soul. Garden experts were adept at building the waterscape of the rich Township, Wen-ching with local material.This paper took waterscape of Xishu garden as research objects, with field measurements method and interview method and data analysis method to fully study on the 10 Xishu garden. Then, based on deep-going analysis of 10 Xishu garden in Sichuan, three aspects:water body and water feature, associated waterscape were studied by analysis induction method and statistical analysis method. The aim is to improve the Xishu gardens landscape theory and to provide a theoretical basis for the protection of Xishu gardens, to provide methodological reference to study on water feature of classical Chinese garden. The results are as follows.(1) Xishu garden can have one of the five type of water-shape:water pond, water canal, mountain brook, waterfall and cascading water and river. There are four type of shore shape:bank, bridge, isle, causeway, and three elemental form of retaining wall. There are five fundamental modes combined water shape and retaining wall. We were analyze the particular characters that Xishu gardens have the waterscape features of Rich Township, Wen-ching compared with Jiangnan garden's water shape and shore shape.(2) There are four kind of Xishu garden water type water:planar stagnant water, linear running water, punctiform stagnant water, punctiform falling water. Analysing on the factors affecting the water type, the result showed that constraction time, terrain, landscape area and elements of gardening agri-environmental were observed to have significant influence on water type of Xishu garden.(3) The results showed it had linear regression relations between waterscape area and garden area, green planting area. The area of water body increases with the increase of garden area. Greening area increases, water area increases. The results showed that:there was significant linear regression relation between planar stagnant water and total area of garden.There are signs of waterscape area influenced by garden area, green planting area and planar stagnant water was influenced by total area of garden, waterscape area, and then there is a certain quantitative relationship between them.(4) Xishu garden's associated waterscape was divided into 6 basic space types. There are four kinds of relying on space, the stagnation type activities primarily and through type of activities subsided. There is no relying on two kinds of space, passed type of activity based and supplemented by stagnation activities. There is more reason for relying on the space than without relying on space that has to to with the enclosed interface, features layout.Associated waterscape space of 10 Xishu garden were mostly reliable environmental space based, the shoreline's length percentage is 60.7% with an average of 827 miles. The unreliable environment space's shoreline length is 595 miles and the proportion of the average is 42%. These are good for the development of the variety of activities.
