Probe Into Waterscape Design Of Civic Plazas

As one of the indispensable material to human being, water inspires us in artistic creation for a long time. Now, modem urbanization calls for improvement both in urban public environment and in urban landscape. One of the important ways employed by architects and landscape designers is to utilize water as a primary element in urban landscape design.However,in the face of the tengding to become the same of the world culture and the maze of the national culture ,the plaza waterscape becomes the same status in quo. In our city this article starts with theanalysis of the dwelling culture of the plaza waterscape in the world to excavate the excellent tradition culture that should be inherited in morden waterscape, this is the important gist in the designing morden waterscape of civic plazas.it offers the effective approach to settle current problem.In this dissertation, the concept of artificial waterscape for urban public environment is firstly defined and its property and function in the public space is analyzed. Then, varied styles of waterscape design are reviewed and development of modern plaza waterscape design is prospected in order to promote current plaza waterscape design of our country. Some rules about waterscape design in civic plazas are summarized through analysis of waterscape's design elements, presentation mode and design principal. On this basis, the shortcomings of our country's traditional waterscape presentation and waterscape design for different civic plazas are discussed. For this issue, writer doesn't make answer but as a start to civic plazas waterscape of design and get the better works through practicing and summarizing constantly.
