With the continuous progress of modern social economy,people's living standards improved,the surge in the number of cars and the limit of the level of the driver,driving safety is worrying,how to impro ve traffic safety has become a severe test of the various fields.It is particularly important to improve the performance of vehicle handling and stability.As is known to all that the suspension of connecting link between the wheels and the vehicle body,and the wheels relative to the frame or body occurred displacement characteristics play a decisive role,when the position of the wheel alignment parameters and vehicle roll center changes,serious impact on vehicle handling and stability.This combination of a domestic pickups truck projects,in accordance with the suspension structure determines the kinematic characteristics of suspension,research ideas for handling and stability of vehicle suspension influence motion characteristics study of double arm suspension.The main contents include: Firstly the paper introduced the general situation of the domestic and foreign research about the vehicle steering stability,suspension kinematics characteristics,kinematics optimization and its effect on the vehicle steering stability;On this basis,the double-arm suspension through multi-body dynamics software ADAMS/Car was established and its simulation was carried out.Through the simulation analysis,found that the wheel toe angle,camber angle,kingpin inclination angle and kingpin caster angle variation was too large.In order to optimize the performance of the suspension to improve the vehicle handling and stability,the wheel alignment parameters were optimized by ADAMS/Insight.Secondly the optimized double-arm suspension was used as a front suspension subsystem of a pickup truck,Assembled into the whole vehicle model with the rear suspension subsystem and the vehicle body subsystem.Finally,the whole vehicle model about handling stability simulation experiment was carried out through ADAMS/Car,according to GB/T6323-2014,comprehensive evaluation of handling and stability of the vehicle.As is shown from the optimized results,it is reasonable and effective to adopted optimization scheme,The kinematic characteristics of the double-arm suspension are obviously improved.With the optimization method in this paper can play a n important role to promote the research and design of the vehicle handling and stability.
