With the continuous development of automotive technology,a series of automobile exhaust pollution has been recognized by the people and become the focus of attention.In order to meet the requirements of diesel engine exhaust emissions,diesel engine manufacturers have adopted EGR cooling technology.The use of EGR cooler can reduce the generation of NOx and particulate matter in diesel engine exhaust and reduce the exhaust pollution.This paper analyzes the development status of domestic and foreign EGR cooler,and expounds the development of domestic EGR cooler.Combined with the current R&D level and processing level,to develop a suitable for a diesel engine EGR cooler.The main contents of this paper are as follows:Starting from the working principle of EGR cooler,fully understand the working principle and the performance of the cooler,the cooler installation position and assembly space in the EGR system,the internal and external overall structure design of the EGR cooler.Through the use of several stainless steel materials in the environment and performance of the comparison,select the components to meet the needs of the cooler parts of the material.According to the requirements of heat transfer,the number of cooling pipes is calculated and verifiedAccording to the existing conditions of the processing and manufacturing level,process related to the design of each part of the EGR cooler,selection method of optimal process;through the use of special tooling and special equipment,solve the problem of product processing of low accuracy and poor consistency of products processing,processing requirements to all parts of the cooler.Select and determine the welding methods and welding solders used in the welding of each component and cooler.Due to the limitations of the experimental conditions,the performance of the cooler is only detected by gas tightness test and thermal performance test.By using the method of simulation,the comparison between the simulation curves and the experimental curves of the manufactured samples shows that the design of the EGR cooler can meet the design requirements in terms of air tightness and thermal performance.The other relevant experiments of the cooler,which is detected by the engine manufacturer,confirm that the cooler can meet the requirements of the national emission regulations in the fourth stage and meet the design requirements.
