To direct at the application requirements of IEC61850 and MMS standards for OSI higher layer protocol stack, the implement was completed about a minimal OSI higher layer protocol software package, which was occupied by small of code and memory space and could run on low-end embedded processor. There are a lot theoretical significance and important practical value at this research project. This project has been cut code and looked to meet the needs of the smallest subset of the protocol through research stack protocol standards and common protocol stack code in order to reduce the protocol stack code space occupied. In addition, the project designed specific, defined data structure for the application requirements to reduce the protocol stack data storage space occupied. The design task of minimal OSI higher layer protocol software package was fulfilled.Specifically, the research and design are as follows:Firstly, the project cut software, which used the Minimal OSI Protocol Stack as a key node.It implemented about analysis and design of the presentation layer, the session layer and the transport layer software packages.Secondly, the project modified protocol stack dynamic memory allocation mechanism become static memory allocation mechanism and limited the number of connections in order to apply designed protocol stack to low-end embedded systems.Thirdly,in the process of tailoring, the project used the server and client two applications which were achieved by open source code itself and IEC61850 client which has been used in engineering to continuously verified and debugged for clipping designed minimal OSI higher layer protocol software package. Finally, minimal OSI higher layer protocol software package which was completed clip design was applied to IEC61850 communication protocol package to complete engineering test.Test results indicate that the expected goals are achieved about analysis and research for minimal OSI higher layer protocol software package and engineering clip design to the open source codes.
