Smart Grid is vital infrastructure which involves in national economy and people’s livelihood. Currently, the construction of Smart Grid has been an inevitable tendency. The smart grid makes the running of electrified wire netting more reliable, securer and economical, also meets the low carbon needs as well. The monitoring of power equipment and the real-time communication of monitor signal is also important.According to the IEC61850standard the monitoring system of power equipment contains process layer, layer spacing, station-level layer and the control center level. In this paper,The system use IEC61850which is a more mature converting station standard and Manufacturing Message Specification which has been widely employed in industry. The application program apply client/server model and use socket communication technology, make simple design of client and server, We analyzed the constitutes and features of IEC61850and MMS and layed the emphasis on Abstract Communication Service Interface and Specific Communication Service Mapping in IEC61850standard. In this paper SCSM is divided into three categories in the data type mapping, object mapping, service mapping, found Contradictions in the mapping and proposed solutions. MMS is Standard of the application layer, which protocol data unit is describing with ASN.1. We studied the features and expression mode of ASN.1and Presentation Layer was coded by BER. We analyzed the regulation and procedure of BER coding and decoding as well. Finally make a summary and rasie serveral deficiencies to be further studied.
