Since the reform and opening up,with the rapid development of China’s economy,China’s industrial technology with the introduction of foreign companies,in the continuous accumulation of learning and rapid growth,the automotive industry with several major world car prices and state-owned assets And gradually developed.At present,China’s annual production and annual sales of cars are among the highest in the world.With independent intellectual property rights and completely independent research and development models are rarely come out,which is the automotive industry sustained,rapid and stable development is not suited.The root cause of this phenomenon is that the domestic automobile enterprises do not really grasp the core technology of the automotive industry.The core technology research of automobile needs long-term verification and accumulation,foreign well-known brand cars are after hundreds of years of technical precipitation,so in the short term,it is not realistic to expect the development of the core technology of the automobile industry.Car design is the primary part of the automotive industry,and is the core of the entire industry;however,modeling design work is the primary step in car design.Different from the design of the vehicle body,in the process of car design,modeling departments should be customized the product category,attributes,market positioning and strategic objectives in advance with vehicle definition department in the product planning work.But With the development of the trend of the times the shape design played an important role in automobile industry is changing.World famous car designer George Arrow has pointed out that "China’s car design lack of Chinese elements".His words poke the key to the Chinese car design.Obviously,Chinese car design is facing problems,such as the rapid development of the domestic auto industry brought the impetuous design,designers in the process of modeling the lack of effective and design method to exert the designer creativity.At present,some mature foreign automobile enterprises have formed their own characteristics of the style,each brand of cars are more or less reflect the cultural characteristics of the country or region.As China’s auto industry development time is relatively short,In the process of modeling design,vast majority of the independent brand car prices will basically plagiarize,follow the fashion or commission design.It is difficult to form their own unique brand image,more difficult to form Chinese characteristics of the styling style.With the continuous development of Chinese auto market and industry,the continuous progress and development of science and technology and constantly converging the level of automobile manufacturing technology,consumers pay more attention to the car’s design.Increasingly saturated Chinese market and consumer psychology gradually mature consumers,more and more domestic car enterprises to realize the importance on design of the Chinese aesthetic and has its own brand characteristics of car styling.This paper takes Anhui JAC Automobile Group Limited by Share Ltd selling models refine S3 as the research object,through the research on the design evolution of the second generation products and the third generation products,analysis of state-owned own brand,JAC’s brand modeling characteristics of the establishment,explore the design principles and methods in the process of modeling design.It is hoped that the study of this case model will provide some reference,inspiration and help to people who are engaged in the design of automobile or who are preparing to engage in automobile design.
