The development of continuous rigid-framed bridge as well as its mechanical characteristics are introduced firstly in this thesis. Engineering situation and main parameters for preliminary design of a railway bridge in Bulgaria are presented. The master dissertation concentrates on structural analyses of this bridge. The operation stage performances and aseismic analysis based on finite element method are established by Midas Civil. Standards used for calculation of this bridge are EUROCODES and Chinese Interim Code for Limit State Design of Railway Bridge and Culvert. Differences on live loads and loads'combinations according to these two standards are compared. Dynamic characteristics as well as structural responses under seismic actions are calculated. Difference of seismic spectrums between Chinese Railway Code and Eurocode 8 are compared. Several types of rigid-framed piers are chosen for this bridge and their static and dynamic performances are compared in order to choose a best. Carry capacity of horizontal aseismic block is calculated using both struct-and-tie model and a 3D finite element model of ABAQUS. Based on dynamic analysis results, an optimization of this part is proposed.
