The object of this essay is’space’, which makes itself more complicated and confusing with the abundant type and the perspective of pluralism. It is interpreted from the perspective of qualitative and quantitative. Qualitative analysis is relevant to the subjective feelings of the space practitioner, partial to the analysis and statement of ideology and deficient in precision and scientific nature, while quantitative analysis starts with the data measured from the actual field but lacks the attention to partial aesthetics. Those two perspectives are within different focuses, so the results are inevitably imperfect and unbalanced.By comparing and analyzing traditional spatial analytical methods, the paper raises a proposal of spatial analysis. Qualitative analysis method includes graphic analysis, cultural analysis and sensory analysis, which can adds individual experience in it, while quantitative analysis contains surveying and mapping analysis, drawing quantitative analysis and space syntax analysis, which can intuitively restore space and clearly present the connection and permeation of space. Both qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis have their own focus, the study tries to combine those two space analysis methods and provides a new visual angle for space analysis.By using the combined spatial analysis of qualitative and quantitative methods, with Autocad, Sketchup and Depthmap software, three temple gardens of Shanxi elementary temple, Haizhou Guandi temple and Yongle palace were studied. Spatial analytical methods of oaxis space sequence analysis, space node analysis, broadness concealment space sequence analysis and spatial connection analysis were utilized on the study, which make it possible to spacial quantitative analysis.
