Nowadays the rapid development of injection molding industry and engineering materials,plastics have been widely used in household appliances,automobiles,digital products,daily necessities and other industries.Warpage is a common defect in injection molded parts.As plastic products should fulfill higher requirements,the research emphasis changes to the reasons of warpage and its solution.Warpage may cause by various reasons,such as the structure of plastic,the mould structure,material properties,and injection molding process.It is known that reasonable adjustment of these factors can reduce the warpage of plastic products.But it is difficult to solve the problem in some situation where the structures of plastic products and mould can not be changed due to the functional needs and the adjustment amount of injection molding process parameters range is smaller.In such cases the most effective way to reduce warpage is anti-deformation compensation.Because of a shape of box-shaped products there is corner effect.It is important significance for improving quality of plastic box-shaped product to study causes of corner effect and its solution.In this paper an automotive airbag base is chosen,characteristics of the injection molding process and problems be prone to appear are studied.Different anti-deformation compensation models are reconstructed according to the warpage obtained by CAE numerical simulation.Then through the simulation analysis,the superior anti-deformation scheme is determined,and the mold design is carried out.Finally,it is verified by experiments that the plastic produc satisfy the requirement in quality and dimension.The main work are as follows:(1)Base on structure analysis of airbag base product structure,the establishing the pouring system and cooling system,the runner system is optimized to determine the optimal gate scheme.(2)Warping deformation is analyzed through numerical simulation and anti-deformation scheme is defined according to the characteristics of the warping deformation.the UG reconstruction of different degrees of reverse deformation compensation of the airbag base plastic model.(3)The warpage in each anti-deformation compensation model is obtained by numerical simulation,and the optimal model is determined after comparing the analysis results(4)The model of airbage base is designed according to the selected anti-deformation compensation scheme and the test is carried out.It is shown that the anti-deformation compensaton can reduce warpage in this plastic product.
