Plant landscape place a important role in shaping the school image, reflacting the school's overall strength and enhancing the quality of environment for learning and living, and it is also a part of the urban greening.Today in china, the process of urbanization are rapid, the educational concept are constantly developing, middle schools around the country have to adjust teaching resources and start to merge, reconstruct, expanse or even rebuild new campus. However, because of restrictions of site and funds, the plant greening of some traditional middle schools can not meet the environment need or expect from teachers and students; Some of the new campus construction pay more attention to hard landscape than plant landscape, without scientific and reasonable planning guidance, the campus landscape tend to be similar and lack of vitality and humanistic spirit.Based on the background of quality education and the school-scale expansion trend, and combined with the present situation and characteristics of middle school education, this paper analyzes and summarizes the special greening requirements of the middle school.Taking Nanjing city as an example, the paper takes 5 old middle schools built before 2000 and 5 new schools built after 2000 in Nanjing as examples of research.Through the fact survey of plants in each school, comparison and analysis have been made on the plant landscape characteristics in different functional areas of old and new campus, the community composition, proportion of native tree species, application frequencies, ornamental characteristics and seasonal aspect of tree species and so on.Finally,a comprehensive evaluation of middle school campus plants landscape in Nanjing is given by using the analytic hierarchy process(AHP),and some corresponding optimization and development suggestions are put forward. The main conclusions are as follows:1.About the plant landscape in each function area, the old campus in Nanjing put emphasis on greening of teaching area, the greening space of sports area and leisure area have variable area and quality,it always overlaped with the greening of teaching area, and the living area greening are usually simplest;New campus pay more attention to the greening of the district before the campus, the teaching area and leisure area. The greening area and plant species of sports and students living area in new campus are more than that of the old campus.2?There are 266 species(including varieties)of greening plants in 10 reached middle schools in Nanjing, belonging to 87 families,184 genera.Among this species, there are 101 arbor,75 shrub and 14 vine, accounting for 38.0%?28.2%?5.3%,and 76 bamboo or grass, accounting for 28.5%.The woody plants are 170 species, taking up a small proportion of the common greening trees in Nanjing, about 29.8%,while the application of herbaceous flowers and cover plant are less too.The high frequency use of some commonly plants caused the similarity of plant landscape between schools, especially the new campus.3?The overall evaluation on plant landsape of 10 middle schools in Nanjing orders as NO.13 Middle School>The High School affiliated to Nanjing NormalUniversity>Nanjing Foreign Language SchoolXianlin Campus>Jinling High School>Jinling High School Hexi Campus>Nanjing Foreign Language School>Zhonghua High School Hexi Campus>Nanjing Jiangning Senior High School>No.1 Middle School>The High School Affiliated to Nanjing Normal University Jiangning Campus, the old campus ranked overall front. The old campus is higher in the level of comprehensive evaluation of ecological function, and the new campus has more advantages for development in the visual effect and the humanities education.
